Kopstootje pours a very inviting and lovely light copper amber. Very clean and refreshing looking even with a wispy white head that puts little effort into establishing itself, but manages to leave some spotty lacing throughout.
A little caramel, a splash of lemon, some herbs, and a mild soapiness come through. Everything subtle, but each are mouth watering. There is even a suggestion of tartness, but undefined as to the source.
As expected, this is delicious. It has rustic plains written all over it. A lemony funk seems to be the driving force, which is supported by an unripened melon and touches of caramel and wildflowers. It's making me think of raw greens and freshly cut grass. But good Lord that little funky tartness is just perfection.
As I'd hoped, this is rediculously light, crisp and refreshing. A soft carbonation carries the flavors slowly, just enough to enjoy each element, before finishing very dry, demanding for more to quench the thirst.
I believe I've struck gold with Kopstootje. I will be itching to have this again. Cheers.

This pours a light caramel color. Wonderful, amazing aroma. Cloves and spices and herbal medicinal goodness. Like a gruit-influenced beer. Compared to a bols genever. So tasty.

Growler from the brewery.
Pouring a deep amber with a dense, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing, this looks great! The nose is delightful. A highly aromatic balanced blend of dough, ginger, clove, spruce and juniper, this smells great. The classic Upright house character - noticeable well-rounded yeast character, a nice doughy malt - are present. The palate opens medium light in body with a blend of bitterness and plenty of botanicals. Bitter clover, some ginger, mildly resiny spruce and orange peel are present. The mid-palate has a little dough character. Long finish with the botanicals lingering, this beer is moderately carbonated and quite nice on the palate. Solid.
