On tap at Engine House #9 the other day. I'm guessing this is what I had, as the menu stated only that it was the Upright Biere de Garde. However, given how long the name of this beer is, I think it understandable that they would not print the whole thing out in the menu.

The beer pours a striking gold color with fairly good head retention and light lacing. The nose is attracitve, as I get some attractive ranier cherry, light clove and some tropical fruit. The flavor profile replicates the nose, except I also got an underlying "wheat" flavor as well. The finish has a touch of bitterness to to it, which helps to bouy the modest sweetness in this beer. Mouthfeel was medium bodied at most, and the finish was clean with a bit of hoppy bitterness. Alcohol was pretty much completely undetectable.

A really nice, easy drinking beer from Upright. Would love to be able to find this around from time to time.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thick white head. Good head retention and a nice lacing down the glass.

Aroma is bright, some lemon and yeast notes. Slight bready and some graininess.

Flavor is grainy, some breadiness. Medium hop bitterness with a bit of herbal quality. Slight isovaleric quality. Finished on the dry side with a slight acidity. Moderate astringency.

Overall a decent beer, but the astringency is much to high to be enjoyable.

Low lasting head, thin wispy color, golden honey body. Nice gentle carbonation.

Smells clean, crisp, light biscuit and wheat. Gentle grass hopping.

Tastes... Clean, crisp edges, a bright spicy sharpness. Minor honey, lagering biscuit finish.

Feels... Medium bodied, sticky, coppery tones like some American adjuncts, the crisp carbonation is short lived.
