Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a clear, medium coppery amber with only slight carbonation with only patchy foam and a small ring around the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, clove, banana/banana bread, hints of wheat. Flavor follows, with more caramel malt than wheat in the body, light clove, banana and apple juice. Medium bodied, but rather flat from lack of active carbonation. This does have German characteristics, but seems to lean more towards a light bock, because of there is more caramel malt flavor than wheat. Flavor is nice, but a bit subdued. This is what I'd expect a hybrid bock / hefeweizen might taste like. I enjoy both styles and like the flavor of this, but it is a bit odd. May be a bit sweeter as it's likely to be an older bottle (undated). Enjoyable, but not quite to style.
