Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a half finger khaki head with good retention and lacing. Nice aroma of choclatey toasted malt and a hint of coffee and vanilla. Flavor is toasted malt, light lactose, chocolate and vanilla; finishing with drier toasted malt and light hint of grassy hops. Medium bodied. A nicely made, low key porter with a nice balanced variety of flavors. Not very intense, but quite tasty. A porter with hints of a milk stout in the flavor. One of the best beers I've had from this brewery.
