O.G. 1085 special edition 2014.
Interesting. Tripel? Maybe...Call it a strong ale aged in marsala barrels.
Somewhat cloudy golden amber, this poured with a smallish white fizzy head.
I don't believe I've had marsala, but I'm pretty sure this is very marsala forward. Sweet grape-y notes and candi sugar with a lightly tart, oaky finish. This was unique and interesting without being all that complex. I recommend this beer and the brewery in general.

Pedro is a cloudy amber with golden highlights and a thin, quarter-inch, frothy white head. His head quickly settles to a thin veil leaving spotty lacing.
This Tripel is earthy like a dry white wine. Honey mingles with strong apricot while alcohol fumes are reminiscent of sweet whiskey.
The flavor is very reminiscent of generic white wine, with modest sourness and earthiness that follows the nose. Warmth brings out oak while a mild lingering finish suggests whiskey flavors. The whiskey flavors become more pronounced with warmth.
A full body, smooth slick texture, pairs well with the high warm alcohol. Carbonation is fine and spritzy with slight metallic notes.
This is a sipping beer best enjoyed while reading or before dinner. I question if it is really a Tripel.

this might be the first marsala wine barrel beer i have had, certainly the most flavorful in terms of that barrel treatment. really amazing strong ale here, my first from these guys, and another cool italian yeasty beer that isnt a wild ale. brewed more like a belgian strong pale or tripel, its thick, a little hazy, very pale yellow, and sports over an inch of gone white head with outstanding retention and lots of visible carbonation. spicy belgian yeast, honey sweetness from the malt, some wheaty cerealy body, new oak and the very distinct marsala wine in the nose. all very well balanced, yeast or barrel or sugars dont run away with this at all. the flavor aligns pretty well with the aroma, with the yeast and the barrel leading the way. notes of green pear and white pepper in the yeast, and the savory woody marsala wine in the finish. tons of carbonation push their way up through the bigger bodied beer. very little sign of this kind of alcohol strength, even when it warms up, it stays mellow in feel. this is a wonderfully complex beer, loves flavors from the grill, a fantastic food beer as so many of the italian offerings are. i have never seen these guys for sale in colorado before this week, hope its a sign of more to come. this was a leap of faith buy for me, and i was handsomely rewarded with an incredibly distinct barrel aged belgian style gem. not to be missed if you can find one of these!

A: The beer is relatively clear pale yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of apricots, brown sugar, and caramel are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the barrel aging allowed this beer to take on lots of flavors associated with Marsala wine such as apricots and brown sugar.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite easy to drink for something that is 11.3% abv. It's a lot lighter than Marsala wine and hides all traces of the alcohol from the taste.
