Real ale in a 500ml bottle, poured into a half-pint straight sided glass, three times. Best before June, drank and reviewed in March.
Red hints to a brown coloured body, very little head on each pour. What head there was appeared a light tan colour and left fairly quickly.
The smell was of peat bogs and toasted mats, no hop aroma at all.
Burnt, toasted malty flavours with a sweet twist in the first instance, as the mouth dries a slight bitterness from the hop content comes into play.
This is a fine Mild and one I'd love to try in cask condition, very drinkable in a bottled conditioned format, must be even better cask.
