This white ale is a Willamette single hopped beer, aged with cinnamon in whiskey barrels from our friends at Do Good Distillery. Weisse Edict's quirky personality will leave you wanting more with an upfront aroma of whiskey and a smooth, almost sweet finish.

The beer pours out a murky dark golden/amber color, with a thin white head-------------- the aromas are of banana, cinnamon and whiskey------------- the flavors are of banana, booze, cinnamon, oak and whiskey, the beer has a medium mouthfeel with a boozy finish--------------- overall this beer was nice, it was a big beer the alcohol is not hidden at all making it a hot mess, wish all the flavors would of meshed together a little better, could of been something special--

Appearance: It poured a dark blood orange, almost reddish type color with a thick, bubbly head that slowly dissipated, being fed by a very large stream of carbonation up the side of the glass. Once the head did subside, it left behind a thick film on top with a moderate amount of lacing on the side of the glass.

Aroma: The aroma started with a whole heaping amount of cinnamon and spices that gave it an almost sour smell. On top of that, there was a sweet, fruity aroma that had a slight funk to it, not really what I was expecting from this brew.

Taste: Similar to the aroma, you get a ton of cinnamon right off the bat, mainly hitting on the back of the tongue and I would say slightly too much. After this, there was a slight bitter flavor from the whiskey barrels that supplied a decent amount of heat going down. The lingering flavors were mostly a woody cinnamon, with some fruity sweetness that tasted like apple sauce.

Overall: This was definitely an interesting beer with the nose being sour and sweet, but when it came to the taste, the cinnamon was a little overbearing, not letting a lot of the other flavors show very much.
