Had this back in September 2018 for the last of the days around the pool. This is the first review of the beer on BA.
Pours amber. Like substantially amber. Holy malt balls! 1/2" beige head. Wow. Aroma was full of that crystal malt amber waves of caramel grain, but I will say that the huell melon (I assume) hops used here did kick down what the commercial tug job would seem to indicate: melon like notes.
Taste, I dunno man, I just can't get beyond the massive malt bill here, I think the melon aspect would totally shine here if not substantially outweighed by this malt base that has more in common with an imperial red ale than it does most double ipas. There are some more positives, it does hide the alcohol decently, this is Bigfoot strength. But more than the promised melon characteristics are the bitter, caramel PacNW ibu war feel of it, and that is something I thought California got over a long time ago. Anyways, decent name and pop culture shout out, but probably below average for style.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
