A - Served a lightly hazy copper-red color with a finger of frothy off-white head. The head fades down fairly slwoly leaving behind some good lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of toasted caramel malts with some light pepper and some citrus hops.
T - Starts off with some lightly toasted caramel malts with some citrus hop flavor. Through the middle some light hop bitterness comes through with some lemon peel and some light yeast flavor. The finish is a mix of sweet toasted caramel malts with some light bitterness and some yeast esters.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a nice dry ctirus hop finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice Imperial Red/Brown ale. Good mix of hop and a good malt profile.

Brewed for Beer Revolution's (Oakland, CA) 2nd Anniversary. Categorized as a Brown Ale but almost a Brown/Imperial Red hybrid....and made with Patagonia Malt from Chile.
Had on tap at the brewery and purchased a growler to go. This review is from the growler with a day of rest in the beer fridge. Pours a dark brown with a full fluffy beige head. Good lacing. Aroma consists of big caramel, pine, more pine, nuttiness and hops mucho. The flavor is well carbonated and has a nice hop presence for this Brown. Citrus is also plentiful and has a nice choppy bite on the swallow with a big dose of malt to balance it out.. Slight leather-like aftertaste with a dry finish. Chewy mouthfeel. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this offering. I wasn’t sure about the Patagonia Malt but it works well here. Brings a nice kick to this beer. The 8% definitely creeps up on you so be mindful. Unfortunately this seems to be a one-time brew but I would be happy to see this as part of the regular rotation. Nicely done by Morgan and Steve. Beer Rev should be proud.
