Got this in a trade, after it had been cellared for a good while. Boy that cellaring packed a whollop to this brew. Smells and tastes like chocolate wine, very high alcohol. Molasses and coffee in the taste, alcohol bitterness to finish out.

From tap, about a year ago at Pig and Pickle. Delicious, and, going slowly, very drinkable. Sip at a measured pace. If you have enjoyed Parabola, smooth and silky, you'd love ST. Whiskey up front, chewy chocolate not far behind. Loved it.

A - Pours a dark brown-black color with a finger of frothy khaki-chocolate colored head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is a mix of roasted chocolate malts, roasted coffee, bourbon, vanilla, oak, a bit of dark fruit and black licorice, and a bit of booze.

T - Starts off with a mix of roasted chocolate malts with some dark fruits, vanilla, and black licorice. Through the middle, the oak and Bourbon come through with roasted coffee flavors and a bit of dark chocolate. The finish is a mix of roasted chocolate malts and coffee with vanilla, Bourbon, oak, a touch of dark fruits, and a hint of booze.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet, roasted, and warming finish.

D - Very drinkable. Excellent balance with the barrel aging and the coffee really adding some great complexity.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head that settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing. The aroma reveals a definite infection. Cherry, brett, light roast, light coffee, light roastiness, and bit of bourbon. The taste is slight tart cherry, light roast, brett, earthiness, and a hint of coffee. The finish is slightly tart with some brett. Medium-light body. Low carbonation. While this was definitely infected and by no means a good beer, it was at least drinkable.

Pours a dark deep black, with no light shining through. A fluffy creamy brown head sits atop about 1/2 inch thick quickly dissapear ing leaving a large bubble lacing ring.

Bourbon, black roasted malts, oak, the unmistakable Blue Bottle coffee penetrate the nose. The heat is detectable, but the sweet nectar that awaits the mouth over power.

Strong coffee tones, with a tad but of carmalized raisin, sweet bourbon added with some spicy heat. Smooth dark chocolate make a guest appearance. Every flavor plays friendly with the next.

Slightly hot and heavy on the tongue, I suggest a cold night or someone to share this beast with or you'll start hearing someone talking in your head.

Overall a really nice bourbon stout. I live the balance of the strong whiskey, and coffee working together. Need to get me some more.
