On tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.
Pours a clear dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of cigarette butt, dirt, coffee bean, and burnt brewed coffee aromas. Taste is much the same with corn nut, earth, and watery stale coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a below average beer with odd cigarette butt and corn nut aspects, and coffee qualities that come across as watery and stale.

22oz bomber purchased from Ledger's Liquors in Berkeley, CA. It promises to be inspired by a "perfect brewed iced mocha". Let's see.
Relatively clear russety brown colour, with a fizzling head that forms and the dissipates, leaving only a suggestion of a ring. Body is light, but pleasant enough, and it hold very fine carbonation. No lacing to speak of, but then there's almost no head to speak of either. Looks ok, without being particularly good.
Nose is mildly roasted sweet coffee, perhaps with some chocolate overtones, but mainly coffee: indeed there's a whole-bean roundness to what is otherwise quite a sharp tone. It doesn't have the intensity of ground coffee. It's quite green as well, with a lifting quality that stops it from being truly one-dimensional. Not bad.
Taste is milder, and weaker: and I think it might be the addition of a cocoa and sugar sweetness, which instead of complementing the coffee character just dampens it. This means that instead of the sharpness that was present on the nose, there's a watery nothingness, perhaps tinged with some limp sugary sweetness that doesn't do much. It's disappointing, because the coffee character present in the aroma was quite engaging.
Feel is light, and because of the lack of flavour, feels pretty weak too.
Overall, it's OK, but no better than that. It really did have some promise, but unfortunately it just drifted a little too close to banality by the end.

Had on tap at the brewery on Sat 4/20. Having a bottle tonight.
A: Pours medium to medium dark brown with nice 2 finger khaki color head.
S: Sweet chocolate, iced coffee aroma. Slight biscuity smell waffling through as well.
T: Follows the aroma, sweet chocolate taste followed by an iced coffee with milk like taste. Getting some nice bready characteristics following the sweetness. Bit of coffee finish.
M: About a perfect brown/porter mouthfeel. Doesn't feel weak or watery the way some of the style do. Sweetness coats the mouth and lingers.
O: Very drinkable and surprisingly refreshing. Really reminds me of an iced coffee which is very unique. I'm really surprised by the mouthfeel as well. Nailed it and proved you dont have to have an imperial stout to have a nice full bodied beer.

Headed to the brewery for this release. Pint glass pour and I am met with a murky brown ale with a barely there head, mainly because of the pour to the rim. Talk about your iced coffee look! Hold it up to the light and you have a distinct iced coffee replica. Cool. The aroma reminded me of a See's candy chocolate lolipop. The one's like back in the day. Spot on smell with some nice roasted coffee in the background and roasted malts. Love it. The taste is chocolatey with light black coffee but the overall feel is it is slightly watered down. I was totally hoping for a stronger flavor. Maybe a stronger version is in the mix down the road. Overall I love the attempt and this unique brew. The smell was the best thing during this session and I do hope there is a tweak to the recipe to make this an All-Star.
