Captain's Secret Punch

September 23rd, 2015 - This not-so-secret punch looks like a mild mannered IPA with a nice golden retriever color and a deep clarity, distorted only by the condensation forming on the side of the glass. Guava dominates the nose and reminds me of a string of beers I enjoyed recently in Hawaii, and also the general smell of the open air markets overflowing with blushing ripe fruit. The flavor is also quite good, with more of that fruit blend expressed, and led by guava and papaya. Fresh and excellent, it still retains the crispness provided by the lager process, which adds a refreshing finish to this fruity brew.
