On tap at Churchill's during San Diego Beer Week. This is Victory at Sea at its best. First and foremost it looked amazing with dark brown/black color and a thick (almost nitro like) pure white head.
Nose was assertive coffee and chocolate and roasted grain to be sure, but with great orange notes and pure rich chocolate tones. There is no doubt that oranges and chocolate were used in this one! You sort of want to gulp it.
Flavors was just what you wanted from a Victory at Sea with fruit and chocolate - delicious, fruity, thick and rich and with tons of chocolate, coffee, roasted grain, oranges, bitter hop and fruit tones all juxtaposed with a rich chocolate flavor profile and all balanced perfectly. Good stuff.
