found my notes on this one... on tap at brewery tasting room in February 2016 -
poured deep golden with thick off-white head with decent retention. completely clear. the nose is pungently catty, piney and fruity as expected. medium bodied with a very smooth texture (attributable most likely to the oatmeal) and astringency which manifests as a subtle burning sensation at the back palate. the taste is a perfectly balanced combo of hop-forward fruity elements and light sweetness from the malt combined with a substantial bitterness that does not overwhelm at any point. finishes short bitter and dry. - this is the kind of beer BP does best... wow.
