Out Citrus Cove captures the salty spray of an ocean wind mingled with a bright zesty character that begs one pleasing sip after the other. Crisp, lime citrus acidity leads the way to a nice dry sea salt and lemon zest finish. The result is an enjoyable take on the classic Gose style, turning all hours into happy hour.

Very clear and straw yellow with a hint of orange hue to it. Can smell the lemon zest with some sea water saltiness. Good foamy head to start but it dissipated quickly. A very light beer that would be good for the summer. Can taste a hint of lemon but not much salt. really not a ton of flavor to it. A slight astringency. Very light and not a lot of carbonation. Overall a decent light refreshing beer that would be best on a hot summer day.

Decent Gose. By far not anywhere near the best I’ve had but it’s solid for something you can get for less than $10 a six pack. Lemon lime, not tart or salty at all. Clear yellow in color with little carb foam

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours faintly hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Mild tartness, citrus, lemon and lime, coriander like spice, a bit earthy and herbal, twangy wheat, and a touch of salt.
T: Mildly tart, citrus zest, lime and lemon, coriander like spice, slight earthy herbal notes, twangy wheat, faint funk, and a touch of salt.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Wish this one was a little lighter and brighter, plus a bit more tart. That coriander thing is throwing me.

Bringing out the best of its citrusy character, the brewers at Ballast Point facilitate the racy fruit nuances of the German styled gose with a fresh zesting of lemon peel.
Pale straw and shaded in a fine mesh haze, Citrus Cove pours with an initially soapy but fast dissolving froth. Nearly still shortly after, its scent is fueled with citrus, cider, white wine and a brisk sea air perfume. Initial sweetness rounds the early palate with sourdough, saltwater taffy and a hint of cereal.
With a undercurrent of wheat and sweetness remaining, the beer remains shy of berlinerweiss sourness and dryness while staying true to the original gose plan, this ale veers from the traditions with a strong tilt toward lemon for a lemon and lime medley with green apple, white grape, gooseberry and honeydew bringing a juiciness and underlying tartness. Each of these flavors are emboldened by the rounded salinity of the sea once more.
Medium bodied and giving a malty sour finish, hints of damp burlap waft about the retro-olfactory senses before trailing with a citrus infused taste of tonic and baking soda. Taffy and cereal remain in a medium short aftertaste that's just off of settling well with the palate.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/10/2019. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, coriander, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus fruit, fruity/acidic yeast, coriander, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, coriander, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tang/tartness; light zesty bitterness, and coriander spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, coriander, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus fruit, fruity/acidic yeast, coriander, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness, tangy fruit, and spiciness balance; with zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness, tangy fruit, and spiciness after the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/acidic/tangy, and lightly sticky/saline balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is an outstanding gose! All all around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus fruit, fruity/acidic yeast, coriander, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic/salty. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Perfectly balanced vibrant citrus, Lacto complexity, coriander, salt, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
