Draft pour at the Hard Rock SD. Clear straw-gold pour with a creamy cap of off-white head. Un-offensive to the senses, this one is nevertheless fairly bland in its execution...lemon peel, grassy, crackery malt, zippy herbal notes, citrus. Fairly balanced and clean with a decent hoppy presence, but nothing special.

Very inoffensive and unexciting. Tastes like a macro-beer. Lemon-zest and cracker flavor. Wheat and lemonande smell. Something grassy/bitter in the aftertaste that I don't like. Not enough malt, imho. This is still better than our Padres, tho, by a long-shot. Not saying much....

Clear bright yellow brew with long-lasting foam in the narrow Zunft Kölsch glass. There is a hint of citrus aroma. Taste is crackery and light a woody note, and finishing with a flicker of something bitter.
This is kind of the Budweiser of Pale Ales. Very quaffable and inoffensive. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market on West Point Loma. The brown label reminds me of the long-ago Padre Beer that was a Safeway brand.

A good hoppy pale ale. Great to have if you're a San Diegan.
