Tongue Buckler infused with Chipotle peppers, cocoa nibs and Coriander. On tap today at Ballast Point.
A - Dark amber / reddish brown. Clear through, very small light tan head. Pretty.
S - Earthy, pepper, smoke, cocoa. Pepper for sure dominates.
T - Whoa! Very peppery. Smoky, woody, harsh bitter bite swallowing, malt barely even in the picture. Some cocoa notes and a little spicy. I like it.
M - Completely pepper dominated. Good carb, of course, but balance is a little lop sided.
T - I really enjoyed this beer. I keep hoping I will like a pepper beer and here it is. I felt the nice light pepper burn in the back of my throat and mouth for about 15 minutes after I had the beer. BTW, I eat peppers every day and love them. If you aren't into the pepper burn, this one might not be for you.
