On-tap at Ballast Point itself, and perhaps fitting, was being served 8 ounces of it. On to the beer:

Not pink as the cause which it supports (Breast Cancer), turning up dark amber with an inch of head sitting comfortably on top. Good amounts of lacing are provided. The aroma, to be blunt, is uncomfortable. It smells very resiny with weed killer, floral, herbal, and is that lavender I smell too? I might be able to kill weeds just with the smell.

The best aspect of the taste might be the flavor of lavender which I'm getting. It's adds a refreshing aspect to an otherwise very spicy, herbal, bitter beer. There is a gentle loosening of flavors as it warms, but not enough to save it. At least it's properly carbonated and properly bodied.

Too bitter, unbalanced, bland, and poorly executed. I wouldn't even use this beer to fight the cancer on my lip, let alone breast cancer.

On tap at Home Brew Mart. Red Ale infused with ginger, cocoa nibs, orange peel, and toasted oak chips. All proceeds go to breast cancer research.

A: Murky swamp water orangish brown with no head.

S: Ginger melds with orange pith and flesh. Oak is light and cocoa is pronounced.

T: Lots of cocoa up front with evident orange peel that adds a little astringency. The toasted oak chips and ginger become apparent midpalate. The finish is a combination of the aforementioned flavors with a blast of booze.

M: Medium body with low carbonation.

Overall: A strange mixture of flavors that don't work well together. Not recommended.
