From a bottle, pours jet black with a very thin head.
The nose is roasted oats, bitter dark chocolate, vanilla, good bourbon barrel content, wet oak. The flavor is roasted oats, dark malt, coffee, bitter dark chocolate, booze, bourbon, vanilla, with just a bit vegetal, a little mushroom flavor that I can't shake. It's very heavy, but definitely drinkable. The alcohol is present, but not overpowering.
