Comes in dark brown and almost black, solid 1" of tan head on the top. Looks impressive. Aroma gave off a little bit of stout burnt malt, but also plenty of holiday spice rack.
A real mixture of stuff here, somewhat as if the Anchor xmas series was porter/stout based and hoppier. Got a little bit of dark fruit edge, hop edge, brown and chocolate malt round out the edges of a beer. You don't see these all too often anymore. Imagine their blackhawk stout, blended with anchor xmas and you get something close to this beer.

A medium dark brown with beige head. Spicy aroma, cinnamon.
Little twang of hops, more cinnamon, coriander. A little thin mouthfeel for a porter. Looks thicker and heftier than it tastes. Comes across at times like some versions of the Anchor Christmas ale. Is there molasses in here? May have some vanilla and raisin aspect to it. Would have loved to have had a few more of these, some nuances that are tough to call.
A decent price, drinks somewhere between a brown and a thin porter.
