Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with a slim, beige head.
Smell: Roast, light toast, and chocolate on the nose, with a small hint of ashen ashiness. Slight hint of prune. Little implied touch of the pending alcohol consumption.
Taste: Sharp, snappy roastiness glazed in a coating of semi-sweet chocolate. Standard dark fruitiness. Basic, subtle hop character and bitterness. Elevated sweetish chocolate on the roasty, warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation, surprisingly lively.
Overall: Paired surprisingly well with the Lisa Loeb song "Stay" accidentally (I think) stuck on repeat.
