On-tap at the brewpub. Pours a glowing orange with a relatively thin head that sticks around as a ring. Smells grainy and slightly peppery. Very light malt that smells a bit toasty. Tastes a bit light and washed out. Nice mild flavors, but I prefer a touch more malt. In fact, it's probably why I prefer dark milds over pale milds- this is a bit reminiscent of Anchor's small beer, which tastes of a second wash of the malt. Light and drinkable, but lacks moreishness.

Appearance: Lightly hazed, dark copper body with a small, short-lived, white head.

Smell: Mild nose with hints of grainy bread and earthy hops. Not too much to it, really.

Taste: Delicate, lightly sweet bready malts with a modest grainy character to it. Very, very faint fruitiness. Touch of earthy hops with a hint of bitterness -- all of it gone in a flash. Dry, clean, but quick finish.

Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.

Drinkability: A brew that makes for quick, easy drinking, though the tastes presented are fleeting, leaving me wanting for a return of the more pronounced AK-47 Mild (or a variation thereof).

on tap at west, served in a pint glass.

Wow was i unimpressed. I appoligize for a bad review because this place was nice and the owner was very welcoming and polite, but this beer was terrible. I am honestly hoping i had the last bit of the batch or it there was something wrong with it.

Poured a slightly hazy golden color, little head, no lacing.

the smell was what i could only describe as like a vomit. I am honestly sorry, but that was the only word to describe the aroma. The person next to me described it as feet.

The flavor was very watery and weak, maybe hints of citurs, but mostly a bland mix of watered down tang.

Felt light with little carbonation

i honestly did not want to finish this beer.

I do appoligize to west, and can only make up for this review by letting them know they they thought i had already paid, but i refused to leave without paying my full tab.

Comes out of the tap a cloudy honey-golden with a decent pale orange-yellow head. Firm aroma is malty with hints of yeast and fruits. Pleasing flavor is mainly malty and has a hoppy undertone as well as a whisper of fruit. Texture is lively and jazzy so it tingles all the way down.

Glad to see 5 Seasons Westside brews have made it up. This review is from notes since I didn't know the exact names of the beers when I had them. My server on used the styles when I had this on tap at the brewpub.

A: Hits the table as light orange, maybe dark yellow in color. There is a bit of a cloudiness in here, but most light does penetrate all the way through and you can see through to some parts of the glass. The head was about half a finger, crisp and white. Sadly retention fell a bit in a hurry and there was no lacing thrown up on the glass. Not bad at all but nothing amazing here.

S: Smell is nice. Really nice malt character that is pale and bit bready. Very earthy aromas coming out of what I imagine to be the hops. Getting some floral and light fruity notes. Everything is pretty subdued and rather mild. I would imagine this be in line with the style then.

T: Almost mirrors the nose but brings it up just a notch IMO. The malts are very present and pleasant. Absolutely pale malts, nothing to crazy or sweet. The hops add just a touch of bitterness in here, balancing nicely. Just a touch floral but mostly a citrus presence. There is an underlying sweetness I can't put my finger on but its nice, maybe a little sweet butter or honey butter.

M: Torn between calling this light or medium in body. If it is medium, it is the on the lightest side. Carbonation is at a medium to low level, just enough to keep it lively. This brew finishes pretty clean with just a touch of malt lingering on the palate.

D: Absolutely and easy drinker. Very sessionable, hence the name. Goes down easy and is a pleasure to drink. This beer is small and delicate but that doesn't mean its not any good. It was perfect for sipping on the outdoor area on the first level and enjoyed with my meal. I really wish this style was a bit more prevalent here because I think it has a lot to offer in the drinkability department. A nice example of that you don't need ABV to make a good beer.

On tap at the brewpub.

Pours a bright hazy yellow orange underneath a short-lived bubbly white head that leaves no lacing.

The aroma has a touch of light hops up front with pale malts and more than a hint of honey sweetness.

The taste starts with the same hoppy kick before the pale malts and honey sweetness take over. The finish is sweet but also has a slight prickly presence from the hops. Tons of flavor for a mild.

The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with minimal carbonation.

I can't say that I'm extremely familiar with this style but this is an extremely drinkable session ale that goes down super smooth but has enough flavor to make it a very good beer.
