On-tap at the brewpub.
Pours somewhere between amber and copper with a 1.5-finger off-white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of smooth and sweet malts with good amounts of spices - nutmeg mostly with hints of brown sugar - and a certain robustness from the all of the pumpkin
Tastes good. Sweet malt flavors serve as the backbone and are joined shortly by good amounts of spices - nutmeg and brown sugar as with the smell. Midway through the sip a slightly sweet, nutty, and vegetal flavor enters into things as it does with most beers brewed with actual pumpkins. The ending is on the sweet side.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a solid thickness with soft carbonation.
Drinkability is good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.
Overall this is a very good representation of the style. Well worth a shot before it's taken off the menu until next year.
