On-tap at the brewpub.
Pours a murky dark copper color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a patchy layer on top leaving solid lacing.
Smells of soft caramel malts with good amounts of citrus and floral hops and lighter amounts of sweet light fruits.
Tastes similar to how it smells. Grainy and somewhat dry caramel malt flavors kick things off and are joined quickly by bright citrus, floral, and mildly pine-y hop flavors. Midway through the sip the hops recede a bit, making room for mild banana and pear flavors. The fruit flavors dissipate right before a mildly bitter ending, leaving hop flavors on the palate.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a smooth thickness with grainy carbonation.
Drinkability is also very good. I finished my glass quickly and could easily have a few more.
Overall I was a big fan of this beer. It's not quite up there with the big boys in terms of balance but it's a very well done beer that's indubitably worth a shot.
