On-tap at the brewpub.
Pours an opaque copper color with a half-finger slightly off-white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of grainy caramel malts with solid amounts of earthy and leafy hops. Also present are mild amounts of yeast-like breadiness.
Tastes very similar to how it smells. Moderately dry caramel and pale malt flavors kick things off and are joined almost immediately by earthy hop flavors. Midway through the sip the hops branch out a bit as leafy and slightly herbal flavors join in. Hints of bready flavors make a brief appearance before fading out into a solidly bitter ending.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with solid carbonation.
Drinkability is also good. I finished my glass without a problem and could have another.
Overall I thought this was a nice beer for the style with a solid hop presence that didn't go overboard. Nothing terribly impressive but well done and worth a shot.
