On-tap at the brewpub.

Pours a very hazy amber color with a one-finger off-white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving solid lacing.

Smells of robust caramel malts with hints of toasted malts. Also present are hints of earthy and light floral hops.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Large amounts of caramel malt flavors kick things off and are joined quickly by grainy toasted malts. Midway through the sip earthy and slightly citrus hop flavors come into play, carrying through to a moderately bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is OK. It's got a nice thickness however the carbonation is on the heavy side.

Drinkability is good. I finished my glass without any problems and could have another.

Overall I thought this was a solid beer but nothing was done exceptionally well. A nice stand-by that's still worth a shot.
