A: half finger head on a clear pure amber body
S: lots of banana with spicy and herbal notes. Toffee and caramel as well.
T: sweet caramel, toffee and earthy hops moves to a smokey note which doesn't last long yielding to a slightly sweet finish.
M: medium body and moderate carbonarion.
Overall: the peatiness of this one is quite mild. A nice tasting beer overall

On tap at the brewpub
A: Pours clear dark Amber/Brown with a finger of white head that quickly recedes to a film.
S: Toffee, almonds, and very light peat. The peat is certainly subdued, but adds some complexity to the beer.
T: Similar to the aroma, but the peat comes out a bit more here, working very well with caramel sweetness and breast malts. Everything is very well balanced, not overly sweet like many scotch ales I've had. I can't emphasize enough how well the peat and caramel are balanced and go well together.
M: A tad on the light side with strong carbonation. Could be a bit creamier.
O: A very nice scotch ale, though different than I'm used to for the style. The peat adds a lot of complexity and works very well with the toffee and caramel sweetness.
