Picked up in Aberdeen.
The beer pours a nice clear copper color with a spritzy head. The foam dissipated quickly leaving a half ring of foam and a touch of lace.
The aroma is quite muted, faint citrusy hops and biscuity malt.
The flavor mirrors the aroma. The biscuit malt is more pronounced and the hops are balanced.
A decent beer but nothing special.

Poured into english pint.
Pours clear light amber with thin white head. Smell of somewhat citrusy hops. Taste is hoppy, not so bad for such a low abv. Fresh and drinkable.

Ok poured well with a slightly dark amber head which slowly disappears leaving a good looking body. However, there is very little in the way of smell or taste. The malts tend to dominate the hops so I found it a little bitter. It was also a little bland; hints of everything rather than any particular flavour. Nothing wrong with the beer but nothing exciting either

500ml bottle from Aldi Supermarket, UK (£1.59):
Light & clear looking, golden straw with a thin head that sits about at 1cm, holding well with very little
movement over the opening minutes.

Light on the nose with some light, earthy & grassy hops plus earthy malts & touches of bitterness. It’s pretty bog standard & not very interesting if I’m honest, it could have used a little something different in there to mix things up.

Earthy hops & malts, a slightly boozy taste & faint sweetness. The is some bitterness coming through as well and watery patches but not a lot else sadly, again it could have used a cutting edge.

Medium bodied & smooth although it was quite bland and almost watery in areas. There is a bitterness throughout & hints of sweetness but it really is quite a boring beer.

Not a bad beer exactly, it was just that is was a real disappointment & not really that enjoyable. The flavours were pretty 1-dimensional with not much more than some basic, earthy malts & hops.

From notes I discovered a month later, having thought I had lost them as I left my last Wetherspoons of their autumn real ale festival:

A: 1/3 pint glass; dark straw/light gold colour; slightly cloudy; head dissipates to rim.

S: herbal; hose water (I like that)

T: rather one dimensional; fruity and hose watery; not at all sweet

Pint at the JDW Real Ale Festival

A: Pale golden, clear, medium head, good retention, clear.

S: Some citrus, but mainly corn.

T: Corny, lager like sweetness.

M: Thick, low carbonation, smooth.

O: IPA for Foster’s drinkers, probably won't seek out after the JDW festival.
