Could have been a dodgy bottle but this poured really weak into my glass; little head or fizz to speak of unless poured from height. Colour looked good, but taste and smell were overpowered by the malts which dominated the hops and fruitiness that I expected. Yeast was also quite prominent and was the major flavour on swallowing. Not one for me

500ml bottle. Ah, memories of playing hockey in tiny Lomond, Alberta in my younger days.
This beer pours a hazy, medium golden straw colour, with one skinny finger of thinly foamy dirty white head, which leaves a decently consistent drooping band of lace around the glass as it seeps away.
It smells of bready, biscuity malt, some mildly tart orchard fruitiness, a musty dustiness, and floral, earthy hops. The taste is biscuity, almost flaky pastry-esque in its malt profile, with some soft, flat citrus, tame musty yeast, a wild grassiness, and weirdly bitter earthy, weedy hops.
The bubbles are present, and on the low side of the effervescence spectrum, the body medium-light in weight, and mostly smooth, but for a nagging clammy factor. It finishes off-dry, the bready malt trending a tad sour, the soft yeast in stasis, and the hops put to bed for the time being.
An ok bitter/blonde (the distinction often blurred in my experience), with more than a bit of homebrew character - the yeast and muddled sour fruit kind of push me in that direction. Don't think I would try too hard to procure another.

Purchased at the Lidl supermarket, coming in a 500ml brown bottle; BB June 2012, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.
A: golden in colour, coming with a frothy off-white head and lively carbonation.
S: the nose is dusty+salty-sour+mildly citric-zesty, against a background of soft, gristy pale malts; a good swirl brings out lightly stinky notes of old citrus peels & earthy hops.
T: lightly effervescent, the swallow is mainly dominated by gristy pale malts, edged by rather light citric fruitiness of hops, some grassy notes and a light touch of pleasant yeasty saltiness as well. The finish is neither bitter nor particularly hoppy, but quite pleasant in terms of aroma.
M&D: the mouthfeel remains effervescent, though not to the point of being fizzy, while the body is light as far as the flavour is concerned; not a bad beer, but really not special in any sense.
