Tasted during a recent visit to this brewpub, served on-tap in a short-stemmed goblet.
A: coming with an well-lasting off-white thick frothy head, the bright reddish amber hue is reminiscent more of a Märzen in fact, not 100% clear (perhaps due to being un-filtered) plus fine carbonation at play. Looking fresh.
S: the nose is full of caramel malts, sour-sweet prunes and a little estery fruitiness - light and refreshing.
T: on the palate, the taste is firmly in the amber-ish lager style, featuring a soothing taste of caramel malts (not that sweet at all), sour prunes, un-sweet raisins, and finished with an initially clean palate that has a bit more pleasant aroma of both malts and dry-ish grassy hop bitterness lagging behind.
M&D: the fizz level remains decent, not too lively and just about right for a beer served on top in its place of birth, while the body comes medium to light for my taste. The initial flavour comes rather pleasant, yet the excitement wanes as it goes, due to lack of flavour intensity and a clear focus IMO. All in all, this is very drinkable and esp. pairs well with the brewpub's nice food. Although not something I'd call a session beer, it's undoubtedly the more successful of the four brews offered at this brewpub.

Served on tap at Pri Kmeta brewpub in Sofia, Bulgaria
Appearance: Poured from the tap into a branded Kmetsko glass, kind of like a large snifter. The beer is a deep red with some brownish and orange notes. Head is one finger and light tan with moderate retention.
Smell: Butterschotch is the most noticeable aroma on the first waft. Sweetness. Caramel malt. Light yeast coming through.
Taste: Light fruitiness balancing out a caramel and biscuity malt character. Strawberries and finishing with raisins. A light nuttiness comes into play as the beer warms.
Feel: Prickly at the begninning but eventually going down smoother. Harsher than would have liked.
Overall: A good beer by any standard. A home run by Bulgarian standards. By far one of the best Bulgarian beers. Actually drinkable for fans of good craft beer. Another reason why Pri Kmeta is the go to haven for beer lovers in this beer wasteland.
