355ml can poured in a dimpled mug.
Clear, amber in colour. Off-white head is 1/4 inch on the pour, but quickly reduces to a ring around the outside.
Aroma is quite sweet as the honey isn't shy at all. Background scents of grains, adjuncts and chemicals.
Sweet and cloying throughout with a quick taste of cereal at the start and a chemical/metallic finish. Aftertaste is fairly clean, perhaps a little grainy.
Medium-thick mouthfeel and smooth with light carbonation.
I've never really been a big fan of this one, but for some reason I keep giving it another chance every so often. A little too sweet for me, and that adjuncty/chemically/metallic finish is a turn off.

Probably the most widespread and available of Great Western's "premium" line, the general public likes their sweet honey wheats I suppose.
Poured from the can, Great Western does make decent looking lagers, I'll give them that. Nice bright clear gold in colour and a fairly large head that recedes in a bit to a thin cap of white. The aroma is a bit cloying from the honey sweetness, and there is a tart graininess to it from the wheat. The flavour is similar, the cloying sweetness of the honey mixing with the tart, almost astringent graininess of the wheat, it's not the most impressive combination. Aside from that it does possess a full mouthfeel that is rarely found with adjunct lagers, this is not swilly one bit. Would be okay to drink ice cold out of the can in a pinch, if there was nothing better offered, but I'll be passing on the honey wheat next time, the awkward sweetness is nearly giving me a cavity.
