355ml can poured into a 16oz pint glass.
A - Just under a finger of bubbly, fizzy head. Slightly off white, gone is seconds. Light golden-yellow. Generic apple juice appearance for a lager.
S - Smells of sweet corn and urine initially. A little light malt and some grain, not much else I can find here.
T - Grain and water. Finishes with an unexpected kick of hops. It's got a simple taste, not great by any means, but it could be worse.
M - Fizzy with rather high carbonation. Thin, watery feeling body. Pretty much as expected.
D - Although it may be a step above a lot of other macro-lagers, it's still pretty unenjoyable, and I'm not really interested in revisiting it any time soon regardless of the cheap price.

A crystal clear straw yellow with a one finger head that turns into a thick film and leaves no lace. there's lots of bubbles popping up from everywhere and it looks alive.
S sweet grains and not much else
A as it smells, although there's not much going on here there's nothing too offend either.
M heavy carbonation, and very thin
D for the 1$ a beer its pretty good overall. I've spent more money on worse beer
from my understanding this beer is brewed for co-op by big rock now. it says pine creek on the can so I'm even more confused
for a dirt cheap 6 pack its not bad, this is a average beer for a well below average price

Appearance: Pours pale golden colour with a fluffy bone white cap. Leaves lots of lacing up the glass, not bad retention.
Aroma: Grainy, some alcohol, generally pretty sweet. Not a great aroma, but not unpleasent.
Taste: Very grainy, slightly sour. Some adjunct flavourings in there. A very slight improvement over macros.
Mouthfeel: Not as carbonated as some macros. Not too bad here. Goes down "smooth".
Final Statement: I actually preferred the light version of this Co-Op Gold Lager. This one isn't too bad, I'd buy it if I was looking for a cheap macro, because, like I said, it's a slight improvement over most.

From the can label, "You're about to discover the crisp, clean flavour of Co-op Gold. This premium golden lager is naturally brewed in small batches, under the watchful eye of an expert brewmaster, using only the finest ingredients. The result is a distinctive, fresh tasting lager of consistently high quality. Brewed especially for Co-op members by the Great Western Brewing Company". An inexpesive ($5.99/6) generic store brand, only available at Co-op Liquor stores.

The mouthfeel is light and sharply carbonated.
A good beer to have on hand (cheap and good enough) for guests who want a 'normal' beer. And the can keeps it from getting skunky when you are outside enjoying the sun.

Brewed by the Great Western Brewing Company for sale within the liquor stores of the CO-OP chain of grocery stores here in Alberta. Comes in a brassy coloured can, a hazy image of cowboys riding towards the viewer on the label. I think this would also have to be the first chain brand beer I've ever knowingly sampled, plus it's cheap like borscht.
Pours out a clear pale straw hue, a small dash of white head that lasts 30 seconds or less. The aroma, while uninspiring, is also not offensive either, possessing a mild grain and sweet adjunct character which is the norm for this style. For the price I would have expected to have been slapped in the face with funky adjuncts, but they've managed to tone it down. The flavour follows along the lines of the aroma, mild, unnoffensive, yet nothing there to really discuss. Starts off with sweeter grain, and by the finish the grain turns a little bitter as the adjuncts poke their heads out before they can be contained. Hell, that touch of bitterness could even be due to some doubtful hop presence, but I wouldn't bet on it. The mouthfeel is light, if not a bit too carbonated for its own good.
A plainer version of what Great Western labels under their own moniker for the most part. All those people throwing their money away to Mountain Crest, and even the Coors Light drinkers, you'd be better off paying your Loonie and getting a CO-OP membership and buying this stuff instead, given the price and what you're going to get in the end. And to the students out there, drop that can of AGD and do the same, I may be joining your ranks once again in the near future, and this is what I'll be spending my hard earned student loan money on when I have to slum it.
