This one is a small batch, limited edition from Great Western brewery in Saskatoon. It purports to be a "British-style Bitter". The 4.2% ABV is spot on in that regard. It pours a straw yellow, pretty much lager coloured, quite a bit lighter than the typical orangey amber of a bitter. It does have a nice tight foam head. Cereal malt and a hint of caramel on the nose, not particularly strong, but smells fairly promising. Tastes of biscuit malt, caramel, a whiff of orange marmelade, and gentle but present hops to balance it out. It's very drinkable, with enough going on to keep it interesting, and surprisingly faithful to the style. It goes down smooth, the carbonation doing its job, but not sparkling in the mouth, which is also perfect for the English style. Overall a very decent craft bitter, and I'm glad I bought a couple 4-packs. If you live here in the Canadian prairies, get it while you can.
