16 oz can at the 2016 Aiken Bluegrass Festival. Clear dark reddish brown body with a very good head. Smoke dark roasted malt flavor. Light hint of smoke but no char.
Overall: a robust brown ale worth seeking out.

16 ounce can.

It pours a clear mahogany with an ample head of off white foam. Good lacing ensues.

The smell is sweetish, has a nuttiness, light grain, minimal bitterness.

Malty taste with mild sweets, bit of a nutty character, light grain and chocolate, mild bitterness. Mild...that's what this beer reminds me of. A Mild Ale.

Light bodied but not watery, good mouthfeel.

Very nice 4.2% abv beer!

Beautiful chestnut brown with a modest foam in the tall Blanche de Chambly glass. A hint of burnt sugar and blackberries in the aroma. Spritzy with a sharp edge to counter the flat roasted malt sweetness.

Warm and malty with the faintest scratch of bitterness at the finish. Very light but a pleasing quaff in the nearly hop-free zone. This is a good example of a really flavorful beer with a lower alcohol content. From the 16 oz can purchased at Haggens Market in Burlington.

Chocolate notes hit me right away - and surprised. Wasn't sure what a euro brown lager was supposed to be. This one is a great sessionable darker beer for those non-summer occasions. The chocolate, the toffee/coffee and the malt profile work very well together to produce a nice variation on typical session brews. Hats off to Orlison (who I'd never heard of though they're from a neighboring state...and just so stumbled onto at World Market @ 2.49 per pint can) for achieving this fine addition to fall consumption.

From Notes

16oz. can purchased for $2.40 at the Rocket Market in Spokane. According to the can’s label, this is a “Euro Brown Lager.”

Poured a clear, dark mahogany-like color. A shade like burnt orange was visible when held up to light. There was an inch or so of creamy, beige foam that receded to a foam collar, leaving spotty lace. The head was repeatedly and easily agitated back to life.

The aroma was semi-sweet and nutty, not unlike an English Nut Brown Ale. There were little hints of coffeeish bitterness in the background.

The bitter and sweet aspects of the aroma were perfectly melded in the flavor. There was a faint toffee taste as well. Like all good lagers, it finished clean.

Light bodied, as one would expect for a lager of this beer’s modest strength. The mouthfeel was different but enjoyable, with a slight, momentary creaminess yet finishing with a clean lager-like mouthfeel.

This beer was infinitely drinkable, providing just the right amount of flavor while remaining as light as a 4.2% alcohol lager should. I can’t help but be reminded of the few English brown mild ales I’ve had. I could – and happily would – drink this all night.

16 oz can bought from "Lifesource" in Salem OR $2.49 Pours a darker chestnut brown colour with a nice sized thick and creamy tan head. Nice creamy fudge malty aroma, very welcoming, touch of brown sugar and sweet coffee, slight floral hop. Taste is similar to the aroma but the coffee is darker and semi-bitter, surprised this is a lager, and like Brewdad says its hard to place. Its a little like Full Sail Session Black... Mouthfeeel is rather thin but adds to drinkability..carbonation is medium.. Nice session type beer whatever the style is
