Dark amber with foamy beige head, lively beer, close to doppelbock and dunkler bock for malt sweetness. And oh, that kick. Relatively smooth with plenty of alcohol warmth, grain/malt sweetness with a mild bitter finish.

Other than a lingering bitterness, hops seem to be nowhere to be found.

I had this beer on-tap in a mug at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: rich amber hue with a moderate haze and a thin layer of frothy ivory foam. Not bad.
Smell: sweet and bready with a bit of caramel character. Not super hoppy, but decent.
Taste: much like the aroma it's super sweet and bready. There are some noble hops here but not really "India" levels of hop character or bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: more like a red lager than an IPL. By that standard, it's not too bad a beer!

A: Pours a clear deep copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and moderate garnet red + orange highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large half finger thick cap covering a little more than 50% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a thick film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith and pine hops over the top of bready and caramel malts. Light notes of herbal hop aromas.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready + caramel malts with only a hint of sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, pine, and herbal hops which imparts a moderate amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light to moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink and enjoyable IPL - nice hop flavors and aromas over a solid malt backbone. I would grab this one again.

The taste well it's very hoppy, pine with a low level of grapefruit, spicy hops permeate the flavors. The malt comes across as caramel malt sweetness some grain. The flavor from the hops create a really bitter note that last right through to finish.
The mouth feel borders on full with adequate carbonation on.
This certainly is a full flavored India pale lager that can fill you up pretty quickly so the drinkability is not off the charts but it's very good.

Enjoyed at the Harbour Public House on Bainbridge Island, WA. Pours a dark orange with thin head and sticky lacing. The nose is bready with hints of pine and the taste follows suit, with the slight addition of citrus. This medium bodied beer was quite good with the calamari we had. Cheers!

Dark orangey amber. Substantial and malty. Fruity aroma with peaches.
Rather sweet and grainy. This would be a great malt liquor, except you wouldn't be able to chug enough of it.

16oz can purchased at Huckleberry’s in Spokane for $2.49. No freshness date. This seems to be a descendent of the Golden Hills 7 Seventy IPL that appeared on-tap in and around the Spokane area around the turn of the decade.
Poured a clear reddish orange-amber, with a big, creamy looking beige head that left lots of lace on the sides of a 20oz Sam Adams Boston Lager glass.
Softly piney and citrusy hops greet the nose. There’s also some peppery notes and a fairly strong malt backbone.
Mildly hoppy taste of pine, pepper and greapefruit.that becomes stronger at the fadeout. There’s also a distinct, caramelish and bready malt backbone. At the swallow, the hop flavor actually seems to kick in harder, leaving a hop resin impression on the tastebuds.
The mouthfeel is slightly oily. It finishes fairly cleanly, like one would expect from a lager, yet there’s a little bit of a hoppy aftertaste, though it’s of considerably lower amplitude than a typical IPA.
This is an interesting hybrid of styles. It’s not sufficiently hoppy to slake an avowed IPA thirst, but it might be a good beer for the hop-wary and the hop head to share. It is rather easy drinking, and if it had a lower abv could easily be a session beer.
