Served from a tallboy can into a pint glass.

A- Poured a beautiful clear mahogany color, which was a little unexpected with big fluffy off-white head that left tons of dense and chunky lace.

S- Big pilsner malt, peppery notes, some lemon, and very clean smelling. Not really hop forward, some light grassy Saaz style hops in the aroma, but not what I would think for an IPL.

T- Rich caramel, toffee, and malty notes; cherry, some lemon and orange citrus notes, pretty high bitterness but not a lot of hop flavor for the style.

M- Very smooth, soft carbonation, medium body and mostly dry finish.

O- This is a nice drinking lager with huge malt character and richness, but it sure does not taste like the hopped-up lager it is marketed as.

A great example of a slightly emerging style.
With the aroma of an IPA and the crispness of a lager, this is a fun style that I am glad to see people giving their hand at, especially a regional brewery focusing on lagers.

Pours a typical IPA hue; light orange, and a thin white head.
Nose; citrus and floral hops, with a hint of grains.
Taste; straightforward floral hops, hints of grassiness, a lingering bitterness, and a crisp/dry finish.
Overall; well done, hoppier than I expected, and I was impressed with my first beer from Golden Hills.
