Poured golden clear with a very good head that stuck around. Smell was somewhat floral, but just faintly. Flavors were ecclectic, a spiral of slightly sweet yeastiness, but with an uncharactaristic thickness combined with a slight spicy bite, also with a nice bitter backbone. It was a nice feel in its own right, but there was something there that stuck around too long. Overall a drinkable beer, but this one is way out there in the stratosphere for this type of beer. Drinking this beer requires an open mind beyond what you think your open mind can handle, but in a good way...or something. Drink it and decide for yourself.

Beer bottle (33cl.), tasted in 2004.
Appearance : yellow color, with white foamy head (not persistent).
Smell : hops aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : fruity, somewhat hoppy and sweet.
Drinkability : beer in the style Belgian pale ale, pleasant but without much character.

BB 05-10-06. Litle head and deep golden and opalizing beer. Nose is quiet off having lots of aromes from wrong wildlife fermenting also in this brew. Lots of sweet corn, sourish and litle malts. Taste is even worse highly bitterphenolic, soapy, no body and overall very poor taste. Mouthfeel is edgy, unbalanced and not enjoyable and can't drink more of this as couple of sips te revieuw. Hopefully I had an off bottle but looks like other revieuwers also didn't like it.

Thick dense head on a pale yellow color. Smell is hard to define, a bit fruity and hoppy. The taste is sweet, decent, not extraordinary, and hard to define. Something fruity and doughy, not bad. Spicy and peppery with a thick aftertaste. Mouthfeel is a bit thin overall. Decent, not as bad as I expected after reading the two other reviews. Drinkable.

Copper coloured, scarce foam, some laces.
At the nose a big and overbearing smell, aromatic and spicy. Aromatic herbes, juniper, cinnamon, laurel, sage. Quite difficult to define.
The taste is similar, even if less overbearing. Spicy, cinnamon, and something else...
Surely, it keeps what promised on the label ("something different").
Light body, aftertaste again spicy and aromatic, and again difficult to define.
It is difficult to judge too, actually.

Appearance: amber, great clarity, absolutely no head even on a hard pour (just some pitiful foam)
Aroma: cinnamon buns, cardamom, saffron, yeast
Flavor: a bit watery, light sweetness and a lot of spice (mostly cardamom), finishes dry with more cardamom in the pitiful aftertaste
Mouthfeel: thin, low to no carbonation
Overall Impression: Well, I think the score speaks for itself. This probably one of the more terrible beers in Belgium. What a disappointment! If it weren't for the spices, this would be more bland than a Coors Light. Second bottle that was "flat", so I'm guess that's how it's supposed to be. When I tried this beer the first time, it poured like a glass of tap water. That time I thought it was just a bad bottle. Not so sure anymore!
