I visited this brewpub with my family on a Saturday afternoon, just passing through town. Located right off the main road, there was plenty of parking on the street and in a public lot next to the brewery. The place has two large bars and a backroom with a stage, so there is ample space. Typical, slightly industrial brewpub decor. The brewing tanks are easily visible, and there were plenty of TV's with pre-season baseball playing. The service was quick, if disinterested. The beer selection was average, with a mix of lagers (the Marzen was solid) and ales (the IPA and Chai Oatmeal stout were good). They were well made and enjoyable. The food was typical for a pub...nothing extraordinary, and mostly forgettable. Nice local place, and worth a visit.

 

 

This place was awesome! The food was great, the service exceptional, and the beer was awesome! This place is similar in idea to Granite City Brewery, but whereas Granite City puts the food first, this place puts the beer front and center. The food was slightly more upscale at Granite City, but the food was still very delicious here. The beer was much better than Granite City and was good enough I would buy a couple of them if they canned or bottled them. The menu has the recommended beer for each food dish too, which is just cool.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I did visit rather abruptly as parking was scarce and the place was packed. Selection was broader than other places, had to do two flights. Food beers to be good but not great. Vibe would probably be generally nice, but it was congested... the food looked good but didn't try any. I would probably recommend this place at a time when parking is more ample. I probably will visit this place again as I might have not gotten all the ambiance of the place.

Their home brew was good, they had about 1/2 of their current craft list. but very sad that all bottles (Miller, Bud-lite, other domestic crap) didn't highlight nor complement their variety. No other craft beers nor even the standard dogfish head or other IPA's
tons of indoor seating. Not real knowledgeable table service on the beer side.
we had the sugar creek lager, brown ale, black rye IPA. Brown ale was 4.5,....at $5 a pint we were easily refreshed after several rounds.

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday after a trip to the Magic House with some friends. Great location in downtown Kirkwood with a ton of seating space. However, it took too long to be seated. It appeared that the staff was focused on the patrons sitting outside on the unseasonably warm day. The beer was good. I had the Alt, American Brown and the Pumpkin Ale. My friend enjoyed the Oatmeal Stout. I took home a growler of the Black Rye IPA and enjoyed it, too. The food was hit and miss. The monster burger was good, but everyone else was unimpressed with their food. The kids menu was good with nice portions and options. Service was a little slow despite the relatively empty restaurant. Prices were fair. This could be a great stop for a beer and burger while in Kirkwood.

Located in downtown Kirkwood next to a very good Middle Eastern Swaarma place.

Visited this place two names and three years ago (new owner, new name, new brewer). Kirkwood is a very $$$ kind of town and the atmosphere here reflects this. A littl eoff putting to see some guys drinking Bud.

The beers have greatly improved and we enjoyed the IPA, Stout, and ESB. They were out of a few brews we would have liked to try, but this means they are selling some intersting beers.

Service was very good and we didn't try the food.
Enjoyed their beer and would like to revisit when we are next in town.

Coming here for the first time even though in Kirkwood, MO frequently, this was a fantastic time! I visited the Brewery now labeled the "Kirkwood Station Brewing Company" in the inside of their lobby, w/ GeoffTheAleMan.

Upon walking in, I thought to myself, why didn't I wait til they had a live music night? Obviously this is a music venue in St. Louis and this would have made the experience even better! The entire place was decorated festively for the Halloween season and was cool. On the North side of the lobby, there were pool tables, seating, and where it looked like, the bands play. We came in and sat @ the Bar on the South side of the building with the "V" shaped bar as in the Vans logo. Very easy night at the Brewery and we took advantage of the $1 off happy hour special.

Every brew was served in a Nonic glass (which was fine by me) but wish they had better glassware to accompany each style. No worries on this. Everything else was good.

Our bartender was very honest and helpful with each brew they had on-tap and was great.

I have to say, apart from having their own brews on-tap (8 of them, if I remember right), I could not even believe their bottle selection... It went like this: Select 55, Corona Light, Michelob Ultra, Bud Select, Heineken, & Busch. How could they be promoting these? I would think that if they are going to be promoting good beer (like their own), they would go the Craft Beer Route... Not sure about this judgement call by management. Will give this one an average review because of all of theirs but whew. Disappointing...

Enjoyed both the Steak Tips w/ assorted beans & their Pulled Pork Pizza! Both were great. Suggest anything else on the menu as well.

With happy hour being in session, our food-beer-brewery experience was just as expected. Enjoyed the time here and will be back without a doubt!

Came across this place during my visit in St. Louis on a hot day after a wedding ceremony. This place is a nice gem of the Kirkwood area - situated off a nice brick building. Though we sat outside under the shade, the inside was rustic, wooden, spacious. The area to the left was the dining space and the bar to the right was enormous with a large chaulkboard with a list of their beer offerings, televisions all over the place, and a nice see-through glass of their brewery operations. Beer offerings are quite decent but nothing mind-blowing. Typical style of beer that fit the mainstream. I had the IPA and was quite good and sessionable. Food was interesting (e.g., inside out guacamole quesadilla) but good nonetheless! Service was great. A nice brewpub in Kirkwood.

Went there yesterday night with my girlfriend to meet some friends. The place is divided into 2 areas. The one on the left was holding a fund raiser for Haiti so we didn't really see it very well. To the right was a more traditional pub feel. There is a large array of tables that butt up against the bar. The place was lit very well (a bit much for my liking).

The beer selection was a bit limited but the two beers I tried were very good. I had the Brown Ale and the IPA. The Brown Ale is a very strong offering with nice body and good strong flavors. The IPA was delicious, complex and flavorful. Very good stuff.

Overall its an ok place. Atmosphere is lacking a bit though. It doesn't really have a unique character.

Went here this week. This is the same building as the old Alandale Brewing. The seating, atmosphere, and decor are all still the same as Alandale's. The menu has expanded and includes mainly sandwiches, some soups, a few pastas, and some wraps. All the food is reasonably priced. I was able to try both the Blackened Chicken Alfredo and the Grilled Salmon which were both good. A few of the beers are hold-overs from Alandale's (Blackberry Wheat, Platinum Blonde, for example). I had their English Pale Ale (very lacking - couldn't even tell there hops), Scottish (average at best), and IPA (which was packed full of flavor and body). Overall, there were eight beers on draft and I could tell there were at least a few other that were not available, but in the regular rotation. The service was friendly and relatively quick - nothing out of the ordinary.

Didn't realize this was a place I had visited before under a differnt name until I got into Kirkwood and it looked familiar. The exterior looks the same as Alandale's did, except it has a Highland banner hung over the old name (and you can still see part of the old one).

The inside has some renovation going on. The left side of the establishment has a stage and pool table and appears to be more of a lounge. The right side holds the bar and table seating. The bar is curvy and there are a couple different chalkboards displaying the beers available, and the brewing equipment is visible behind glass.

The beer selection consists of around 10 draughts, many of which share the same names as the Alandale beers that came before. However according to the bartender there is a new brewer and new ownership. A sampler is available for 8 of them. The beers range from lighter fare like a Pilsener, Witbier, and Blonde to an Oatmeal Stout. Not much that is unique other than Rye APA. All the beers are average.

Service was good on a weekday early evening. The bartender was engaging and happy to talk about the recent changes to the brewpub.

Food here is good. My burger was very tasty, and the homemade chips were as well.

Overall the beers are nothing to write home about, but the place is worth a visit for anyone in the Kirkwood area.

This is the old Alandales restaurant and brewery - now under new ownership with a new brew master, the one and only Dave Johnson (O'fallon Brewery & Buffalo Brewing). The beer names they have are mostly the same as before (i.e. Sugar Creek Lager), but Dave has been tweaking them as he sees fit - which should make for some interesting brews (his Rye IPA will be nice).

Still a crisp and clean air place, no stinking like an ash tray on the way out. Food menu has been modified to be more of a gastropub than fancy dining, which I see as a plus also. A quiet place to enjoy your pint, but it does offer music and entertainment in the later evenings and weekends. Nice outside seating by the street to people-watch.

Mostly the same friendly servicers and bartenders - I put this on my list to hit at least once a month.
