Bought at the Sainsbury's supermarket when it's down to 80p a bottle~~ Coming in a 500ml clear bottle, BB 14/11/2006, served cool in a straight imperial-pint glass.

A: bright and clear amber hue, gentle fizzy body, coming with a spongey white beer head.
S: sweet and fruity hoppy--caramel, cream-biscuity pale malts, lime cordial, plus tea-ish aroma of hops. The overall elements and especially hops are mixed very well, but desirable complexity is in absence.
T: semi-sweet citrus hops, a loosely-formed but sweet malty platform, leading to a more subtle bitter-sweetness in the aftertaste (a bit like sweet potatoes but I can't be sure); semi-dry finish with tea-ish hoppyness in the end.
M&D: slightly thin-bodied and lacking depth, though the well-controlled fizziness does render the mouthfeel reasonable lively throughout. An OK beer, it's somehow much inferior to GK's Abbot Ale (cask), which shares plenty of similarities with this beer's malty characters but comes more pleasant and drinkable.

Appearance: deep gold/amber, great clarity, hardly any head forms during the pour and the little that does appear is gone after the first few sips

Aroma: malt, strawberr(?) fruitiness, hint of grassy hops, vanilla

Flavor: mild malt sweetness hand-in-hand with grassy/citrusy hop flavor and a thin acidity, slight bitterness before the dryish finish with a lingering hoppiness in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: medium-light, mild carbonation, crisp texture

Other comments: So, another GK beer swaggers onto the market... sure, I'll give it a try. Not very impressed. Mediocre like most GK beers. This is one of those reviews when I'm having to try really hard to come up with something because it's just not very exciting.
