One of three special ales brewed for JDW pubs for The World Cup 2006. This one is named after one of Sven's (England football team's coach) favourable formations--"one votes for it by drinking it", the pump-clip implies. Tasted by half-pint at my local Spoon's pub, the Half Moon, East End London.
A: clear, semi-dark amber hue, coming with a loosely-formed, fluffy and thin off-white beer head, against a low carbonated body.
S: a burned or melted brown-sugary edge of maltiness is complemented with a healthy dose of fruity hops. Pretty mixed and not easy to discern which hop is used in this beer.
T: a lightly citric-zesty+faintly tart fruity hoppyness prevails, leading fast to a tangy, zesty bitterness expanding all over the palate. A very deep undercurrent of leafy hops lingers on the sides of the palate, finished with a Greene King's signature, sour yet aromatic malty finish.
M&D: light-bodied, medium-flavoured, very approachable and quaffable... The overall flavour reminds me a lot of GK IPA, with more pleasant bitterness added to it. Not bad.
