A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of Sept 2018. Purchased a while back from Morrisons as part of their beer festival. Described on the label as a mocha milk stout brewed with lactose, cacao and dark malts.
A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A very dark brown colour that appears pitch black in the glass. Yields a large head of creamy tan foam that lasts for a moment before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.
S: Aroma of dark malt with hints of roasted grain, cocoa, mild coffee, subtle molasses, lactose, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Uncomplicated but decent.
T: Tastes of roasted malt with notes of burnt grain, cocoa, coffee, mild molasses, lactose, ale yeast and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, followed by a substantial malt-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with fizzy carbonation and a somewhat insubstantial body for the style. Lightly astringent. Aftertaste of bitter dark malt, roasted grain, cooca, coffee, molasses, ale yeast and faint lactose.
O: Decent enough - good to see GK having a stab at something different. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a blend of roasted grain, cocoa, coffee, molasses, lactose and ale yeast. Body is OK but could be thicker. The overall character of the beer lacks depth; it's a bit paint-by-numbers. However, still better than their usual output.

Bottle. Morrison's beer festival. Almost black. Ever decreasing tan head.
Aroma of a strong latte coffee.
Demi-sec. Milk chocolate. Cacao.
Rather thin. The lactose provides some smoothness.
Insubstantial but quite refreshing and became easier to drink towards the end.
