Bought for 99p from home bargains, bottled in clear glass
pours a golden body with big, quickly disappearing white head that leaves trace bubbles
full on skunk aroma, its a hot sticky day & my armpits smell more pleasant than this beer
tastes like cheap canned shandy, the citrus slant just gives it a lemonade taste
awful

500ml bottle. At a time when craft brewers are moving to cans, Greene King chooses clear glass...!
L: Lovely dark copper colour, clear, no bubbles, a thin head but lots of lacing.
S: SunnyD.
T: SunnyD.
F: Light body, moderate carbonation.
O: Artificial. Poor.

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of April 2019. Purchased recently from Waitrose. The label describes it as a refreshing fruit IPA brewed with fresh grapefruit and grapefruit/mandarin flavourings. Hopped with Chinook and Mandarina Bavaria.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A deep orange-amber colour with good clarity and intense carbonation. Forms a large head of frothy white foam with good retention; this slowly subsides to a persistent surface layer. Some lacing.
S: Aroma of sharp grapefruit with hints of bright citrus, peel, subtle pine, leafiness, vague hay, fruity ale yeast and faint caramel malt. OK but a tad disjointed.
T: Tastes of sharp, juicy grapefruit with notes of citrus zest, peel, mild pine resin, weed, leafiness, grass/hay, ale yeast, subtle caramel malt and stewed hops. Pretty dry, followed by a substantial hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and a somewhat thin body for the style. Bit too fizzy. Mildly astringent with some citrus oil on the palate. Aftertaste of grapefruit, citrus zest, peel, bitter aromatic hops, subtle pine, ale yeast and caramel malt.
O: A decent effort though not outstanding. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour showcase tons of citrus underpinned by resinous hops, ale yeast and caramel malt. Average body. The citrus is nice but doesn't seem fully integrated into the beer - it comes across as an added flavour that stands slightly apart. Drinkable and would be nice on a hot day, but don't expect to be blown away.
