A mild brewed using dark malt to give a sweet and roasted flavour. Moderate bitterness with light underlying herbal hop character from the Goldings and English Copper hops. Easy to drink but also plenty of flavour.

Bottled, sadly in clear glass and possibly the bottle only available in a Brewers choice box set
Pours a dark brown body with decent enough tan head
Aroma is fresh wet wholemeal bread mix
Tastes of brown sugar and brown ryvita

500ml bottle. What’s with Greene King and their preference for clear glass?
L: Black colour with a thin, creamy, off-white head that leaves a few spots of lacing.
S: Despite being served cold, produces a rich aroma of stewed plums and roasted malt.
T: Sweet, fruity, smokey, dark treacle. Low bitterness.
F: Medium/light body with a good mouth coating. Moderate carbonation.
O: Excellent, malty, 3%, old skool, English mild. Can be served chilled (summer) or at cellar temperature without losing its rounded, fruity, toasted characteristic. Not many beers made like this these days.

L- Amazingly dark. Ultra-deep chestnut, through which I only get glimmers of of deep ruby light held in front of a window. Pours with 5mm pale tan fine head reducing slowly.
S- Some toasty notes and bready malts.
T- Some toastiness and mildly rich body behind.
F- Carbonation is good in the mouth; I'm concluding that is something of a saving grace in a beer as low ABV% as it brings some added character. As it warms the CO2 seems to reduce, so not one to linger over too long perhaps.
O- I'd usually not invest time/money in a 3% beer, imagining it didn't have much chance vs my personal tastes, but this was bought as part of a Greene King 'Brewers Selection' box of 6 pint bottles (£8) from Waitrose. For the BB: it says 'See neck of bottle' but I can't find it anywhere at neck, body, lables, cap nor base. Bought this week though. [ps. the outer cardboard box states BB: Feb 2020].
This seems quite an achievement to me, all this flavour built upon a foundation of a mere 3.0%.
