The colour is copper-brass. The finger thick head is beige. The liquid clear. Some lacing.
The smell is fresh and bitter, it reminds a bit of a pale lager. Some lightly roasted notes. Butter, bread, some yeast. It's quite mild/weak.
The taste is fresh with notes of almonds, butter and lightly roasted. The bitterness is medium strong. Not so much malt as I had expected. The aftertaste is mild, too. I found notes of malt and some fruity bitterness.
The carbonation is (too) strong. The liquid is watery.
This verison was a disappointment. The stronger Old Spelcked Hen is an OK Pale Ale, but this one was watered down in every way.
