As with one of the other posters here, I had this in the San Diego area (at La Jolla Public House) and it was called a Wychwood beer, but I can only find this on the Greene King website, not the Wychwood one. Presumably, that is what I had. It was a light golden ale described as an "English ale" at 4.1%.

Gold, it had a nice white head slowly shrinking to a foamy ring and some nice lace.

Aroma was nice, light grain, herb, apple.

Taste was similar, nice, light fruity yeastiness, light but firm biscuit and grain, apple, faint hint of herbal woodiness. It had a light sweetness just dominated but a light but stronger, zesty bitterness, but still balanced. Feel was light and somewhat thin but lively and zesty. A simple, but nicely made, well balanced, and easily enjoyable light session ale, great for warm weather.

Called a "Spring Ale." Served in a pint glass at Pizza Port OB, San Diego. They and others list this as a Wychwood Brewery beer, so I had to do some research. Suspicious that the new crop of beer coasters were all from Greene King, I'll go with them rather than calling it a "new" Wychwood product.

Medium amber color. Head gives up quickly but seems authentic enough. Very light body and watery, ditto. Faint sourish hint, like a touch of rye or medicine. Slightly spritzy in the mouth for a while. Hops give a stark bitter profile. Just a hint of biscuity malt. Better after a slice of pizza and certainly highly drinkable. On the bitter side of the English Bitter style.

This is a March-April seasonal. From notes, 4/16/09:

On cask at a King Greene pub near Trafalgar Square in London. It had an interesting liquid caramel aroma with a hint of smoke. There's peppery hops in the flavor with orange soda and oak. This is an interesting beer, but not that great all together, the flavors are just a bit too subtle.
