Wexford Irish Style Cream Ale Nitro (2025) from Greene King. Four pack of 14.9 fl oz cans, purchased 26/02/26 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. $ 15.50 (Including tax)/$ 0.260/fl oz. On room temperature shelf at distributor, stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 19/03/26, review 3709. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Can bottom stamped “BBE DEC 25.” Served at 43.3 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 51.0 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Medium Amber (SRM 12), clear.
Body – Medium Amber (SRM 12), opaque because the nitrogen bubbles coat the inside of the glass. After wiping them off: Under direct light, same. When rear-lit, medium amber, clear.
Head – Average (Maximum 1.7 cm, aggressive center pour) Eggshell, high density, slowly dropping to a 1.2 cm crown and a complete cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3 – Little other than weak bittering hops. No malt, no alcohol.
Flavor – 3 – Mildly bitter with slight earthy hop flavor. No malt, no alcohol (4.8% according to the label). No dimethylsulfide, no diacetyl. No gastric warming.
Palate – 3 – Thin: Watery but slightly heading toward creamy: Soft carbonation.
Style: Fits general BA description.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 Uncredited label art. Nearly flavorless – being totally flavorless would be an improvement. Appropriate price point.
