Inspired by bold American IPA's and named after the American jazz legend Charlie ‘Bird’ Parker.
500ml Clear bottle: BBD of Apr 2014. Poured into a 'Back Forty Beer Co' badged sleeve, just to make it feel more American!
The bottle was obtained from my local Morrison's Supermarket.
Amber and clear body, good foaming head of white on top.
Floral and semi-sweet nose: this follows on into the taste. Starts off fruity in the mouth, then turns fairly dry before a bitter aftertaste. Overall a little sweet compared to any American IPA's I've come across.
I liked it, not as bitter or hop infused as real American IPA's but I'm not a huge fan of them really anyway. This will appeal to guys like me maybe: like to try different beers and styles but hate paying a lot for beers I might not enjoy.
Just shows that some of the 'big boys' are taking notice of what is going on outside the UK and where a few beer geeks are spending their money: even if they haven't actually brewed an exact copy.
