Sampled a pint with a tri tip sandiwch (sandwich was only $5.99) at the brewery on Sunday 5/2/10.
Pours a murky golden brown. Decent amount of fluffy white head that dissipated quickly but left a nice lacing.
Aroma is smokey and woody. Some malt but mostly burnt oak.
The flavor is moderately intense on the smoked malt. I instantly thought of apple wood smoked cheese when I tasted it. The apple wood and oak flavors over powered just about everything else, as in every smoked beer. Some nuttiness and sweeter malts made themselves known. Went great with the tri tip sandwich.
Medium bodied and well carbonated.
