I find it pretty annoying when people mistake Belgium for Belgian, and when a brewer does it, it's even more annoying. Oh well.
On tap at the brewpub today. Pouring a hazy light yellow, this beer has a dense white head that's cut by a slice of orange. Placing the orange in my glass of water considerably improves the look of this beer. The nose is loaded with citrus and coriander, both of which are just too strong for my liking. Moderately wheaty, there's some nice yeast character too. Thankfully, it tastes significantly better than it smells, with a refreshing, clean citrus character along with a spicy coriander flavor. Light in body with moderate wheat, this delivers on all fronts. Moderate carbonation to keep things lively and a refreshing, dry finish all make for an enjoyable beer. I'd love to try this without the slice of orange... maybe next time?
