On tap at the Ruddy Duck
A - darker than typical of the style. Cloudy, medium orange in appearance. Small head, but I think that was more from the pour from tap than the beers fault. Decent lacing.
S - hmmm, I can SEE the beer, but damned if I can smell it. Deep whiffs yield the faintest of hop notes (I must look like an idiot trying to drink with nose that far in the glass). Let down to say the least.
T - thankfully it doesn't follow the (lack of) nose. Good hop bite at the front and back end. Some mild maltiness helps bridge the gap in the middle. Piney, resinous flavors that linger pretty nicely. Moderate carbonation. Pleasant to drink.
M - tough one here. For style I prefer a crisp feel, but the malt gives this one a medium feel...which seems to work. This category always puzzles me anyway.
O - for a style that is so easy to screw up SOOO badly, this offering is quite enjoyable. For 7.2% ABV, it's pretty easy to drink though the alcohol makes itself known by the end and as it warms. Would benefit from more and perhaps better hops, but then again wouldn't MOST IPAs? Sculpin and the other leaders in this category needn't worry but this is a pretty good beer. Would like to see this one pushed a little farther.

Ordered a pint of this bad boy at Ruddy Duck.
A: It was a little dark by IPA standards, being a deep copper color. The head was pretty good, a one finger eggshell color with good lacing.
S: Intensely tropical. Grapefruit, citrus rind, mango, apricot, etc. Didn't detect much maltiness on the nose.
T: Holy grapefruit bomb, Batman! It's almost like sucking on an orange/mango/whatever tropical fruit you may feel like substituting. There is a bit of a pine finish as well, after the biscuity malt middle. It was a little lacking in balance, and it didn't pair too well with my meal, making it more of a standalone choice. The alcohol is barely detectable.
M: It wasn't super sticky on the finish, and was quite drinkable considering its ABV. High carbonation.
O: I think that the Helles would have paired better with the dinner I had, but if I was just going for a pint at their bar, this is the one I would pick. It doesn't quite have the balance I look for in an IPA, but is otherwise very enjoyable.

Sampled this brew at a recent beer competition and found it to be an exceptional IPA.
Dark Gold/Light Amber color with crystal clear highlights.
Aroma was exceptional, with lots of tropical fruit, citrus, and berry swirling about. A hint of earthiness gave it depth and complexity.
Taste did not disappoint after such a fantastic nose. Malt backbone took a back seat to citrus and herbal hop infusions. Malt lingered long enough to complement the bitterness nicely. This ale has great complexity in flavor, with malt sweetness, citrusy tropical hops and an earthy yeast complexity that evolved with every quaff.
Medium bodied with ample carbonic bite to tantalize the taste buds. Alcohol volume well hidden in this smooth drinking IPA.
Very enjoyable brew. If you like an IPA with multiple levels of taste and complexity, this one is for you. Find it and you will not be disappointed.

S - Hop profile is mostly grapefruit and sweet citrus with some notes of bitterness in what seems to be a bit of resin.
T - Pretty light tasting, mostly grapefruit and citrus, and not quite bitter enoug on the end. Strong malt backbone, with a too bready finish.
M - Lighter side of medium bodied, decent carbonation.
D - Actually pretty drinkable for a 7.2, makes a nice session beer, as the taste is light, but it's not so good tasting that I want to session it.
